appetising...

I attempted cook this yesterday. Now who would have thought things can go wrong with such a easy peesy recipe? The rice became mushy when i poured in the sardines, perhaps it is the type of rice and the method of which the rice was prepared (no one uses rice cooker here..can't even find it in electronic shops :(. Then, the canned sardines were tasteless (no ayam brand!!) not tomato-ish enough. In the end, the dish was saved by a simple side dipping sauce of

sliced chilli with soya sauce saved the day! ;)

hmmmm...soy sauce is something that is always in our kitchen, Kris. hahaha. i love adding it into almost all of the dishes..i lessen the salt, though.
sardine fried rice? firs time i've heard of it! looks real easy to make, too. guess it has to be the sardine with tomato sauce, huh? ;)

me too! even into hard boilded eggs, yummy , right?!
oh, i havent eaten sardine fried rice before this. Since its failure, i dont think i'll make it again anythime soon :D

Soy sauce is usually the saviour of any bad day in the kitchen!

If I may make a suggestion...
Reduce the sardines with its sauce separately to thicken it and to intensify the flavor. That way, the sauce is just enough to coatt the rice.
Canned sardines are great to have in a pantry. I like to mix sardines in oil with boiled potato&vinegar for a warm potato salad.
Oh the thought is making me hungry...
BTW, I saw rice cookers sold at larger Chinese markets in Bp.

mmmmm..your description of salad already made me drool. I shall try it out one day.
Guess what? i've replenish some sweet potatoes, they're now kept safely in the fridge. You should really look for it in Cora ;)
